Floods are threatening Venice with increasing frequency. The Basilica of San Marco, located at one of the lowest points in the city, is particularly at risk. In the context of Venetian splendor, acoustically cleverly conceived music was created here. As a European music center of the first rank, it was the place of activity of many important musicians. This place, threatened by climate change, seems like a symbol of a fragile culture. The Ensemble Respiro explores with this project the unbowed topicality of the music of the 17th century, with works by Schütz, Gabrieli and Rosenmüller.
